The Providence Friars have been rock solid this entire season. Firmly in the Top 20 without much movement and a cemented Top 5 team in the Big East. Creighton, UConn, Marquette, and Xavier are all ahead. Seton Hall and Villanova creep right behind. But blindly looking at these standings doesn’t do much for us. It’s all about momentum, some teams will win the back half of this schedule, and some teams will lose.
Creighton might be the hottest team in College Basketball. Xavier has had some big road wins this season, so to see the Blue Jays look seemingly untouchable v.s the Musketeers. That puts them back where we thought they would be as a contender. Remember, this team had a lead on Kansas in last year’s tournament.
Villanova was a Final Four Team last year, and an injury to Justin Moore essentially shot their chances of winning it all. A few guys arer back, but wendidn’t know that the process of getting back to a tournament team would be a season long task in 2022-2023. Injury luck hasn’t been on their side with Cam Whitmore and now the Sophomore, Longino, missing time on top of waiting for Moore to come back.
