I was glad Minnesota had three days off and a late start on Saturday night in Utah. It gave me time to really hone in on college basketball during champ week without dealing with the disappointing reality that is no KAT and Rudy. However we see Antony Edwards star every night without his two main co stars. Most people saw his dunk where he took John Collins soul. This was obviously the highlight of the two games in the Beehive state but on Saturday night when the game was still close we saw Ant’s star power show up again. My friend who was celebrating St. Patricks day heavily at the bar yelled at the TV “Cook Him Ant!” and Ant immediately hit a step back three. This was impressive to me because I have seen this same friend yell similar things at Jimmy Butler, KAT, Wiggins, heck even Robert Covington and none of them followed his elite coaching like Antony Edwards.

Edwards showed even more of his star status when the Wolves came home on a back to back shorthanded against Denver without Naz Reid also. The Wolves I felt had no chance starting Kyle Anderson at center against Jokic and based on the score sure I may have been right. However while it sucks that they lost such a big game I was really happy with the effort and energy the boys brought in and it got me excited for a potential playoff rematch with the defending champions. The Timberwolves are at home Friday against Cleveland and Sunday against the Warriors.
