I stayed up to watch the late start Friday night and couldn’t of been more disappointed in the Wolves effort offensively. In the 97-87 loss it was proof that sometimes in basketball you just lose. Our shots weren’t falling but we played great defense most of the game it just seems like the Suns who are fighting to get out of the play in wanted it more than us. We then got the blessing of the Lakers off of a back to back which meant no Lebron last night. We won 127-117 as neither team had interest in defense esepcially after AD went down.
Looking at the standings the Wolves and Nuggets are one game up on the Thunder for the one seed. While we all take a break from basketball to watch college hoops tonight all three teams have back to backs Tuesday and Wednesday. Minnesota hosts Washington (I’ll be there!) and Denver plays at Utah before they both meet in Denver Wednesday. While OKC plays Sacremento and San Antonio. It is safe to say the winner of Wednesday’s matchup will be in the driver seat for the one seed with two games to go. For the crowd that doesn’t want the one seed if the season ended today the play in teams would be New Orleans, Sacremento, Lakers, and Warriors. That is a better matchup for the Wolves than the Suns as that should be our avoid at all cost. I am sure on Thursday we will have a much clearer picture of who the Wolves are looking at going into next week.
